Clients insured under Victor's Builders Risk and Environmental programs can use our After-hours Emergency Claims Service for reporting a claim. For immediate and urgent attention, please refer to our list of approved adjusters across Canada below. The adjuster should be selected based on the project location.

Please note that this service is only available for Builders Risk and Environmental claims and only to report after-hours emergency claims. If the claim is not urgent, and if it is during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday to Friday), please report your claim to Victor by email, fax, mail or courier.

Tanya Banfield, B.A., LL.B.

As Victor’s Claims Leader, Tanya leads the claims management team and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction for claims management, and liaising with the company’s underwriting departments, carriers and service partners. Since joining Victor in 2005, Tanya has gained in-depth knowledge of claims management through the various positions that she has held, including Manager of the Directors and Officers claims department and Claims Analyst. Her previous experience includes practicing law in the private sector with a local litigation boutique firm. Tanya obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University and her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University. She is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Tanya was appointed Managing Director in November 2020.

 

Laurence Gévry-Fortier, B.C.L., LL.B.

Laurence is a Senior Vice-President and the Manager of the Directors and Officers claims department. Prior to joining Victor in 2021, Laurence was handling various types of claims for the financial lines division of a major insurer. Before embarking on her career in the insurance sector, Laurence was a commercial litigator in the Montreal office of an international law firm. Laurence obtained a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University. She is a member of the Quebec Bar and holds a certificate of claims adjuster (commercial losses) issued by the Chambre de l’assurance de dommages.

 

Brenda Lees, B.A., CIP

Brenda is a Vice-President and the Manager of the Special Risks and Technology claims department. Since joining Victor in 1998, Brenda has gained valuable knowledge and experience managing errors and omissions claims, general liability claims and cyber claims. Brenda graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, where she specialized in Industrial Relations, Commerce and Human Resources. In 2008, Brenda received her Chartered Insurance Professional designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada and achieved the Jack Farquhar Memorial Award.

 

Gino Brosseau, CET

Gino is a Vice-President and the Manager of the Construction Insurance claims. Gino is a Civil Engineering Technologist with more than 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction including project administration, site inspection, structural inspection, project planning and design, and surveying. Prior to joining Victor in 1998, Gino worked as an inspector for the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario.

 

Karen Corrigan, CIP, CRM

Karen is a Vice-President and the Manager of the Architects and Engineers claims department. Prior to joining Victor in 1999, Karen worked in the property and casualty insurance industry and has handled catastrophic claim losses. Karen is a designated Canadian Risk Manager as well as a Chartered Insurance Professional with the Insurance Institute of Canada.

 

Stéphane Boucher, B.A.Sc., B.Ed.

Stéphane is a Vice-President and Manager of the Architects and Engineers claims department, with a focus on claims in Quebec. Prior to joining Victor in 2004, he worked for a manufacturing company, developing and supporting products for the HVAC industry. Stéphane graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering) and a Bachelor of Education.
